Passing of Sensei Chay

26 March 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Sensei Chay. Eli Uballe passed away on Friday, March 25th, 2011 from complications of a heart attack. Sensei Eli Uballe now rests with our Lord.

Sensei Chay was my student, 4th degree Black Belt instructor, and friend. I loved him deeply.

Sensei Chay was a patient and caring instructor that brought balance to the dojo. He rarely barked orders, but approached people with a kindness that all of us will miss. Sensei Chay taught and still teaches us to be better than we can be. He nurtured many of you, teaching and loving you all along your journey. He brought what my people call wa (harmony) to the dojo. For many of you he was a protector and peace maker, always wanting the best for you. Sensei Chay measured his actions with value, counting the costs, and moving towards the best in situations.
