Classes
Holloway's Isshin-ryu Karate School offers classes for ages five and up. We emphasize traditional instruction in Isshin-ryu basic exercises, kata (forms), bunkai (applications of kata to self-defense) and sparring. Kids are taught tumbling as well. Older kids and adults will learn traditional Isshin-ryu weapons (bo, sai, tuifa) as they advance.
Schedule
Adult classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. The basic program entitles you to attend any two.
Kids' regular classes are held on Monday and Wednesday, with checkout classes on Saturday for fine tuning. The basic program entitles you to one regular class and the checkout class. The Wednesday and Saturday classes are for all ages, as is the Monday class during the summer session. On Monday during the school year, we hold two classes for different age groups.

Students can sign up at any time; the summer session is the only time we ask for a commitment of more than one month.
Pricing
Kids: $65 per month for the basic program: one regular class and one checkout class per week. For the summer program, payment is due up front for all three months.
Adults: $65 per month for the basic program: any two classes per week. If you're interested in more than two, contact us about our other programs.
If you're interested in checking out our classes before you sign up, you're welcome to observe. You can even try one class for free. We do ask that you let us know ahead of time if you want to participate, particularly for the kids' classes.

Closings
If Waterford schools are closed for inclement weather, the karate school will also be closed. The schools' status is published on their web site. Contact us if you're still not sure if we'll be open.
