Promotion Criteria for Children

These criteria apply only to the children's classes.

1^st Gold Stripe:

Counting 1–10 in Japanese; beginning vocabulary

2^nd Gold Stripe:

Basic kicks 1–4 by number; basic exercises 1–7 by number

3^rd Gold Stripe:

Basic kicks 5–8 by number; basic exercises 8–15 by number; new vocabulary

Gold Belt:

All gold belt stripe requirements above

1^st Orange Stripe:

Basic kicks 1–3 in Japanese; basic exercises 1–4 in Japanese; first half of Taikyoku kata

2^nd Orange Stripe:

Basic kicks 4–6 in Japanese; basic exercises 5–9 in Japanese; second half of Taikyoku kata

3^rd Orange Stripe:

Basic kicks 7–8 in Japanese; basic exercises 10–15 in Japanese; first half of Sanchin kata

Orange Belt:

All gold and orange stripe requirements above; all of Taikyoku and Sanchin kata

1^st Green Stripe:

First half of Seisan kata; new vocabulary

2^nd Green Stripe:

Second half of Seisan kata; new vocabulary

3^rd Green Stripe:

First half of Seiuchin kata; new vocabulary

Green Belt:

Seisan kata; Seiuchin kata; new vocabulary

1^st Blue Stripe:

First half of Naihanchi kata; new vocabulary

2^nd Blue Stripe:

Second half of Naihanchi kata; new vocabulary

3^rd Blue Stripe:

First half of Wansu kata; new vocabulary

Blue Belt:

Naihanchi and Wansu kata; new vocabulary

1^st Brown Stripe:
